I am often asked which books are my favourites; which books are the most spiritual and have impacted my life hugely.
True spiritual books contain a high vibration and when you read and work with them, they propel you into a much higher way of living.
But you need to not only read them, you need to study and work with them too.
There is a large divide in the spiritual field between people that have read lots of books and people that actually practice spirituality.
If you practice being spiritual, you meditate regularly. (This is the truth, and I’m calling it out).
If you aren’t practicing a form of meditation – whether that be a chakra cleanse, mindfulness or a moving meditation – you aren’t being spiritual, and are simply feeding your mind with knowledge.
Many people are very knowledgable about the ways of the soul, but very few people actually live them.
We encounter this every year when we open the doors to my online school and run Level 1.
We have a 60 day refund policy, so if people purchase the course but don’t jive with my school and the way I teach or something unexpected happens in their life, they get a full refund of their money.
It is also a requirement that if they don’t want to continue with the course, they need to hand in their homework from the first modules. (I strongly believe that if people do the practices I advocate, they will get the desired results, so we make it a rule that they have to show us they attempted it).
Every year there is a handful of people that choose to leave the school because they’ve “read about the chakras elsewhere,” “are more advanced,” or “don’t want to have to learn to meditate to become psychic.”
But when we read their homework, we are astounded to see that they have blocked chakras and know they need to work on themselves!
If you want to run a marathon, you wouldn’t read a book about marathons and then say you’re a jogger, and if you want to eat healthy, you wouldn’t just read about green smoothies and claim good health.
But this happens all the time in the spiritual field. People think if you read one book about soulful living, you can expect to live soulfully. Reality check!
In the online world, information is on a constant recycle loop, and sometimes it feels like an endless regurgitation of mind generated junk.
Do yourself a favour. Choose one of these books – anyone because they are all so good – and study and work with it.
Read the passages slowly, breathing deeply and gently and try to absorb its teachings. Re-read chapters and book mark them. Only stop reading the book when you feel you are, to a large extent, living its teachings.
Here are 10 books that I think are the most spiritual of all time. I have read all of them a zillion times……….
1. The Power of Now, by Eckhart Tolle.
I read this book constantly almost every day for 3 years. The phenomenal success of it speaks for its truly transformative power.
All I can say about it is this….hold onto your hat because this book will knock any ego out of you.
2. Autobiography of a Yogi, by Paramahansa Yogananda.
My all time favourite spiritual adventure autobiography.
If you love all things magical, mystical and supernatural read this book!
3. The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, Deepak Chopra.
One of the most powerful books I’ve read about manifesting.
Deepak Chopra talks about how to manifest by surrendering and letting go of your desires. A very refreshing perspective because manifesting can be a lot of ‘pump’ and ‘hype’ and not much soul.
4. Return to Love, Marianne Williamson.
This book is simply stunning.
Marianne Williamson has an elegant way of making spiritually challenging constants easy to grasp. This book convinced me (finally) that forgiveness was as important as everyone says it is.
5. Conversations with God: Book 1, by Neale Donald Walsch.
A mind blowing consciousness expander.
I have to thank Neale for writing this book. I read this in 2000, at a time I was searching to understand how the ‘Universe worked.’ His book answered all of my questions and gave me so much more.
6. Key to Yourself, by Venice Bloodworth.
I heard about this book through Debbie Ford and upon reading the first pages, I knew it would become a favourite.
This book was written in the 50’s and is a practical guide to modern spirituality. In it she teaches you how to use the power of your mind to create health and beauty. (Even in her later years she was often mistaken for a woman in her 30’s – so she practiced what she preaches!)
7. The Power, by Rhonda Byrne.
I was hesitant to read her second book because I’m not a fan of ‘The Secret’ but I’m glad I did.
This book is fun, engaging and deeply spiritual. Instead of this book being goal orientated like The Secret, it’s love orientated. I read it on loop for a couple of months and it is a great ‘love injector.’
8. Stillness Speaks, by Eckhart Tolle.
This book is so powerful I can only read a couple of excerpts a week.
I read a passage, meditate on it and observe how it’s transmuting me. It has such a high vibration I often put it under my pillow or next to my bed.
If I had to choose one book from this list, it would be this one.
9. Manifesting Michelangelo, by Joseph Pierce Farrell.
I love this book! He is amazing!
This is the story of a man, who suddenly could instantly heal broken bones, illness and disfigurements. Within minutes flesh and bones transform underneath his hands.
If you want a paradigm shift, and a new way of thinking, get hold of a copy of his book now. (The way he works is the future of healing and medicine).
10. Leap of Perception, Penney Peirce.
This book is currently my bible.
After having a whirlwind of an energetic upgrade last November, I asked the Universe to help me out, and it did (of course) by bringing ‘Leap of Perception’ into my life.
Penny Peirce is a gifted psychic and so incredibly wise.
Start 2014 on the right vibration by immersing yourself in the right book!
