In recent times many people have asked me how I created a successful business. My response to this is always; I used an equal amount of strategy and intuition.
Today I’m sharing with you an article I wrote for a popular blog specialising in small business and entrepreneurship. I’m sure you’ll find it helpful.

Why All Successful Business People Use Their Intuition
All entrepreneurs have these two things in common; they are strategic and instinctive.
Of course, they’re business savvy. They know what one must do to run a successful business.
They’re experts in leveraging, social media, marketing and building powerful communities and platforms. They know how to create a demand for their products, and manage to ‘magically’ make people line up to for their services.
Yet, all successful business people know that without their instincts, they would never be successful. All their business knowledge and savvy would never lead to success…
Successful people rely on their intuition just as much as their business brains.
They trust and follow those inner hunches and gut feelings that tell them to drop a project if it no longer ‘feels right,’ and persist with a project even if it means facing all insurmountable odds.
They know instinct always trumps strategy, because instinct makes you aware of the unforeseen, and guides you how to prevent or triumph over it!
Successful people also rely on their instinct because they know the market rewards innovation, authenticity and individuality.
If they follow their instinctual and creative hunches, and boldly step out and do it their own way, they will win, because nobody pays attention to a copycat or just-another-business owner that doesn’t have a unique vibe.
Vitality and freshness are found within businesses that do things their own way, and this is magnetic. It draws crowds because it’s daringly different.
Successful people rely on their own unique vibe to get their message heard and spread, and they are, first and foremost, visionaries and pioneers.
Here’s how to become a visionary and successful entrepreneur.
1. Sync your right and left hand brain hemispheres.
Meditation is the easiest way to do this.
It not only quiets the mind and creates more inner clarity and calm, it also balances the right and left hand brain hemispheres, so that you can use both your strategy and instinct.
2. Listen to your intuition.
Initially, you may find it hard to listen and follow your instinct. Most people have stopped paying attention to their intuition, but if you listen carefully and are willing to turn inwards and pay attention, you’ll find that your intuition is there, waiting to guide you.
3. Listen to your inner hunches.
Make sure to always pay attention to your gut feeling about something. Even if it seems illogical to do so, it’s your intuition trying to tell you that there is an unforeseen factor that is going to make this a disaster for you.
Start following your instinct, and get into the habit of checking in with yourself. Ask yourself regularly, does this feel right? Does this feel wrong?
Open and free feelings mean, you’re on the right track. Closed and icky feelings mean, you’re not on the right track.
Your intuition is always waiting to help you get on track with your business. Start to work with it, and you’ll be amazed how quickly you become a successful business owner and cutting edge entrepreneur!
