Why I’m a Ghost Activist

Why I’m a Ghost Activist

I’ve always been able to see ghosts, and I can still clearly remember the first time I did.

I was two years old and I saw a girl-child ghost. She was wearing an old-fashioned lace nightdress and had long brown hair and large, kind, hazel eyes.

She told me her name was Julie and that she wanted to play with me. We quickly became best friends. Yes, my first bestie was a ghost.

I always knew that she was different to me. She looked transparent, like a watermark stamp, and she didn’t speak using her mouth but through telepathy. She would ‘send’ images, feelings and thoughts to my mind from hers.

Sometimes I would use my mouth to speak, but more often than not I would also communicate telepathically. She was a wonderful playmate, and we spent hours together every day.

Back then I didn’t realise that Julie was an earth-bound spirit that needed help moving into the Light.

Back then I didn’t realise that I was a Ghost Whisperer.

The Truth About Ghosts

Are you frightened of ghosts? Fascinated perhaps? But does the thought of actually seeing one scare the living daylights out of you?

You’re not alone in this. Almost everyone I’ve ever spoken to feels the same.

The reason most people are afraid is because they don’t understand what ghosts are and how they became ghosts.

Ghosts are the spirits of deceased people, who have – for an array of different reasons – not been able to find the Light and stay stuck on the earth plane.

I won’t go into depth about this here, but the reasons for this are largely due to the fact that:

a) our society mostly denies death.

b) we no longer do rituals and blessings to help souls move into the Light.

Ghosts are not the same as spirits, angels or spirit guides.

Spirits, angels and spirit guides have found the Light and are not ‘stuck’ on earth. There are also earth-keeper spirits and others who choose to be here on earth. This is very different from being ‘trapped’ on the earth plane.

(I used to live next to a nature reserve and would often see the earth keeper of the reserve. He was an aboriginal spirit, and looked after that area. Whenever he’d see me, he would nod or inform me of how things are in his area. At times he even requested the White Light for certain things).

The most heart-wrenching stories I’ve heard have been from ghosts. Words fail to express the extreme isolation and loneliness many ghosts endure, so it is important to understand that they are trapped on the earth plane and that we can help them.

Over the years, I’ve helped many ghosts find the Light. When I was a child it wasn’t always easy being a ghost whisperer, but as I grew older, I learnt how to easily communicate with and help them. Actually, I still work with more ghosts than people. When I send out the White Light to thousands of people each Monday night, I send it to many more earth-bound spirits (ghosts).

If people understood what ghosts endure, they would change their mind about fearing them.

Films like “Paranormal Activity”, “The Exorcist” and the like, certainly don’t make it easy for us to embrace ghosts. These films focus on malevolent spirits, which are few and far between.

I’ve worked with my share of bitter, angry and depressed ghosts but none of them have been evil. Yes, they have moved objects around rooms, and spooked people, and made a noise but generally in AN ATTEMPT TO BE SEEN AND HEARD.

The plight of a ghost is a tragic one and should evoke feelings of compassion within us instead of fear.

These deceased people, yes, ghosts are people! (I have just called them ghosts within the post for clarity’s sake), are stuck in a place they don’t want to be, and you can help them.

And that is why I’m a ghost activist. I want people to change their mind about ghosts, and instead of running away from them or forcibly trying to eradicate them, to lovingly help them find the light.

These Changing Times are Opening Us Up

In 2014, 2015 and beyond, many more of us are becoming open to spirits and the spirit world, many of us are becoming ghost whisperers.

In the past couple of years I’ve spoken to many (usually, quite freaked out) people, who could suddenly, for no apparent reason, see and hear ghosts. After teaching them how to deal with suddenly becoming a ghost whisperer and showing them how they can help, these people felt fortunate that they could help.

The thought that you too could see or help a ghost need not be fear-evoking. Like I have said previously, ghosts are simply people that have not been able to pass over into the Light. You will not only do them but the planet a great service if you embrace being a ghost activist and help them move on.

Being a Ghost Whisperer

The first thing you need to understand is that ghosts can’t hurt you unless you invite them to.

Doing seances, and evoking spirits (without knowing what you are doing) is simply foolish and is asking for trouble. So don’t do it!

Secondly, hanging out with ghosts – if they are in your house – is gloomy and depressing because they are gloomy and depressed, but this doesn’t harm you.

Don’t Freak Out

Suddenly seeing a ghost is also not so frightening once you get used to it. I promise you, seeing them is not at all like in the movies. They don’t jump out at you and scare you.

Over the years, I’ve been shocked at how many ‘so-called’ healers, exorcists and shamans deal with ghosts. The most common approach: ‘rounding up the ghosts and kicking them out, ghost-buster style’, not only doesn’t help ghosts move into the Light, but it is also cruel.

Imagine fumigating your house, but instead of trying to kill insects, you are killing ghosts (people!). Of course, this doesn’t ‘kill’ ghosts, because they are already dead, but it forces them out into the street to find shelter somewhere else, and often they’ve lived in that building hundreds of years before the present dweller. So who, then, is the rightful owner?

I’ve had to re-educate many such people about how to lovingly clear houses and help ghosts release attachment to people, animals and children.

Put them on the White Light list

Most people need guidance and support when they first start out as a ghost whisperer, so I don’t recommend that you immediately start to convince your resident ghost to go to the light. Most ghosts are very resistant to this and often, not very friendly.

However, you can use the free Monday night global White Light healing sessions to help your ghost. All you need to do is sign up, fill out the form, and tell me how I can help you and your resident ghost.

I will then work with your ghost, helping them to move into the Light, and you will have no more hauntings, sad feelings or whatever is going on with your ghost. Your ghost will also be lovingly helped and hopefully want to move into the Light.

Join me in being a ghost activist, and let’s help one of the most misunderstood people on earth! (Yes, remember, ghosts are people!)

Awesome post Belinda. You are so articulate and compassionate and I find it refreshing and inspiring to learn from you! Thank you xxx

Belinda, I love this! My sister used to see a little boy Ghost in our home alot. She’d spend time with him and ‘look’ after him. Eventually she tried to help him ‘go to the light’… without knowing why, she felt instinctively that it was time for him. One day, she didn’t see him anymore.

In fact, my whole family, including me, has had at least one Ghost ‘meeting’. It’s so refreshing to hear your compassion and desire to help them. I’ve always felt the limbo state they are in must be so painful.

Love what you are teaching us, thank you for being a light in this world! x

Thank you, Belinda for these words! I´ve had my share of ghosts coming to me for help. They always came up to my bedroom when I was ready to go to sleep. So at some point I asked them to stop it because I really wanted to sleep at night even though it is really beautiful to whitness a ghost finding the light!!!
Reading your article I wonder if I can have something like “office hours” for them to seek my help. Hours during the day, not at night?

      Hi Maike,

Office hours is a great idea. I tell my ghosty friends that they are allowed to visit me every Monday at 9pm. I also don’t like being disturbed before i go to bed.

Absolutely fascinating post. I have never seen a ghost and am one of those scaredy cats. However, I do believe in them and its refreshing to see them portrayed in a positive light. Maybe one day….

    Hi Belinda,

Thanks for posting this, it triggered a question from be that before now I hadn’t even contemplated!

If earth spirits have been asked to leave or blocked from their area, is it possible to ask them to return?

My parents happen to own one of the last remaining untouched bits of forest in our area and about 10 years ago, due to problems with some trees and their growth, they asked a man to come and read the energy lines around the property. The man did and altered them from what i know, but he also told my father that he asked an old aboriginal spirit that was patrolling our area to leave. My father seemed to instinctively know that this wasn’t necessary and that the man was protecting our area, and sure enough ever since the date of the mans visit our property has had less rain fall than average and even less than our next door neighbours! We believe that he was looking after the forest that is left on the property.

Its of course true that my family actively try to keep the place protected and looked after, but it is comforting to think there is another being out there who was also doing the same.

This is such a fascinating post. I’ve had a few experiences in the past but they’ve always just been minor passing things when travelling etc. But over the last several months I’ve started waking up often in the night to see a women in 40’s clothing pacing my large converted attic bedroom of the heritage home I live in, with what appears to be a baby in her arms. She always makes me feel sad and I wonder if perhaps she had loved ones in the war. Whenever I make a move she moves away through the door to another part of the house. I have no idea why I’m seeing her now after living here for several years but its an interesting experience.

I’m so thankful for this blog. Ive almost been moved to write to you and ask “how do I stop feeling fearful of ghosts?” And then this blog came out just at the perfect time! I have been waking up a lot in the night for some time now and I always feel this strong sense that there is a prescence standing at my door. It also feels like it doesn’t matter whether I’m at home or not. It seems this occurs wherever I may be sleeping. I always feel so scared of seeing something that I usually shut my eyes and pull the quilt over my head. I always feel guilty when I wake up in the morning, I feel I should have persisted and tried to overcome my fear. This blog has helped me to realise how to do this now. Thank you so much Belinda. I look forward to seeing if I can help in some way xxx
